The Seine
The first serials tanks exposed to the public and located in the entrance hall represent the course of the Seine from its source, represented by a waterfall to its estuary, it’s a tank of brackish water. It is one of the familiar rivers of Parisians but it is nevertheless still poorly known...
The Seine, its tributaries and the Norman rivers constitute the Seine-Normandy tank. It covers some 97 000 km ² area, that is to say nearly 18% of the French metropolitan territory.
Many physico-chemical parameters (temperature, current velocity, substrate, vegetation, ..) influence the distribution of fish species in rivers. That’s the way there is a real river limitation, and each zone is characterized by the main species that inhabits ... (the species are still moving between each area).
